Paederosidic acid is an iridoid glycoside that has been found in Paederia scandens and has diverse biological activities.{65275,65276} It inhibits the proliferation of NCI H1650, HCC827, and A549 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells (IC50s = 40.68, 42.58, and 36.48 µg/ml, respectively).{65275} Paederosidic acid (10-40 mg/kg) protects against seizures induced by pentylenetetrazole (PTZ; Item No. 18682) or maximal electroshock in mice.{65276} It increases duration of pentobarbital-induced sleep and decreases the latency to sleep onset in mice.
