MART1 is a type III membrane protein encoded by MLANA in humans.{57340,57341} It is expressed in melanocytes and localized to melanosomes, the endoplasmic reticulum, and in the trans-Golgi network. It is also expressed in retinal pigment epithelium and melanoma cells.{57339} MART1 antigenic peptides are expressed in an MHC class I-restricted fashion in tumor cells and recognized by cytotoxic T cells at tumor sites in patients with melanoma.{57342,57343} Cayman’s MART1 (N-Term) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody can be used for immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Western blot (WB) applications.
