HNMPA is a cell impermeable tyrosine kinase inhibitor that blocks receptor serine and tyrosine phosphorylation, including insulin receptor tyrosine kinase activity.{25669} It does not affect protein kinase C or cyclic AMP-dependent protein kinase activities.{25669} HNMPA inhibits the insulin-stimulated autophosphorylation of the 95-kDa ?-subunit of the insulin receptor with an IC50 value of 200 µM in vitro.{25669}
