Cytokeratin 19 is a type I epithelial intermediate filament protein.{15723} It is composed of a central rod containing four ?-helical domains, which are important for self-assembly, and non-helical head and tail domains at the N- and C-termini, respectively. Cytokeratin 19 is expressed in bile duct epithelial cells and non-keratinized stratified squamous epithelial cells, as well as other epithelial cells.{59743} Cytokeratin 19 is associated with a variety of cancers, including salivary gland, lung, and thyroid papillary carcinomas and various gastrointestinal cancers.{59744} The presence of cytokeratin 19 in tumor tissue from patients with hepatocellular carcinoma is associated with reduced recurrence-free and overall survival.{59745} Cayman’s Cytokeratin 19 (C-Term) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody can be used for immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Western blot (WB) applications.
