The COX-1 (ovine) Inhibitor Screening Assay directly measures PGF2? by stannous chloride reduction of COX-derived PGH2 produced in the COX reaction. The prostanoid product is quantified via enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) using an antiserum specific to PGF2?. This assay includes recombinant ovine COX-1 and is an excellent tool for a general COX-1 inhibitor screening. It will also help to eliminate false positive leads generated by less specific methods.
