Blasticidin S is a bacterial metabolite originally isolated from S. griseochromogenes that has antibacterial and fungicidal activities.{33681} It is active against B. subtilis, S. lutea, E. coli, P. fluorescens, and M. tuberculosis, as well as the plant pathogenic fungi P. oryzae, S. mali, G. kaki, and G. lacticolor in a broth dilution assay when used at concentrations ranging from 5 to 50 µg/ml.
