At the American Heritage Schools, Broward Campus, located in Plantation, Florida, students used the Bertin Bioreagent 20-Hydroxyecdysone Elisa Assay Kit to conduct scientific research during their Annual Summer Science Program.
20-Hydroxyecdysone (20-HE) is a hormone that is found in animals and plays a key role in the growth, development, and reproduction of arthropods (i.e. invertebrates such as insects, crustaceans, arachnids…). The Bertin Bioreagent 20-Hydroxyecdysone ELISA kit made it possible for the students to measure the level of 20-HE in Drosophila fruit fly samples in the context of a research project on the transgenerational effect of antipsychotic drugs on fertility.
