MM-11253 is a synthetic, conformationally restricted retinoid that acts as a selective antagonist of retinoic acid receptor ? (RAR?).{34220} It dose-dependently blocks the ability of RAR?-selective agonists, but not retinoic acid (all-trans retinoic acid; Item No. 11017), to inhibit the growth of oral squamous cell carcinoma cells in vitro.{34220}
