SARS-CoV-2 Detection Kits Now Available for Research Laboratories

Thanks to the newly signed distribution agreement between Cayman Chemical Company and GenScript Biotech Corporation, Bertin is now offering qRT-PCR kits for SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid detection and ELISA kits for the detection of Spike S1-RBD IgG and IgM. Those products will help research community to tackle the challenge on COVID-19 therapeutics and diagnostics.

qRT-PCR detection assays

The qRT-PCR detection assays are based on GenBank Sequence NC_045512.2. The primers and probes target ORF1ab gene, N gene, or RdRP gene and E gene in the SARS-CoV-2 genome. These assays use a 1 step protocol and have successfully detected SARS-CoV-2 in positive control samples. While additional testing is ongoing, these assays should be considered for Research Use Only (RUO)—not for diagnoses.

ELISA kits

Looking at antibodies developed by an organism after an infection is allows to study its immunity. The 2 ELISA kits below can be used to evaluate IgG and IgM targeting SARS-CoV-2 Spike S1-RBD in serum/plasma samples. These kits are RUO and are useful in SARS-CoV-2 research, however, results obtained from these ELISAs are not to be used as a clinical diagnostic test.
